Alternative Dispute Resolution

99% of all disputes are settled without the need of costly litigation. Many are settled with the help of a neutral and objective third party helping facilitate discussions between the parties. Alternative dispute resolution is an opportunity for both parties to craft an agreement they have had some input into creating versus the winner take all judgment given by the court. Granted, it is not the ultimate solution like the winner of the courtroom, but it does allow for an agreement both sides can live with while avoiding the risk of the courtroom. Why does that sound good? Because in the courtroom there is a winner and a loser.

Landlord/Tenant disputes

Landlord/Tenant disputes run the gamut from failure to pay rent to failure to make repairs, landlords trying to evict to tenants refusing to leave, tenancy at will to tenancy for years. Georgia has a code section specifically dedicated to the landlord and tenant relationship and the contract that binds the two. Either party stepping outside the boundaries the law creates has a much harder time enforcing or receiving equity the law allows.

Family Law

Divorce, child custody, child support modification, alimony, and assorted juvenile issues are just a few of a greater number of highly charged, high stress, and highly emotional areas of family law that are becoming to be familiar in the courts today. A needed advantage of hiring a lawyer is the objective ability to maneuver you through the tough decisions that will have to be made, ensuring your rights as to child custody, visitation, support, and rearing decisions for your child or to ensure there is equity in the division of the marital estate.

Immigration Law

Immigration law is constantly changing, is fluid within its legal sphere, and indiscriminate within the discretionary powers of the immigration judge. However, there are constants within the immigration rules that benefit the many who avoid the pitfalls and obstacles. This is where I come into the immigration picture.

I help avoid the pitfalls and overcome the obstacles. I will help guide you through the differing visa procedures, permanent resident procedures, asylum declarations, and defend against removal and deportation proceedings.

My name is Christopher E. Ward and I am a lawyer practicing in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Call me at (817) 805 - 3670.
